What Does S-CHIP Provide?

In most states, covered services include:

• Doctor visits


• Vaccinations


• Hospital care


• Medications


• Emergency room care

Many states also cover:

• Dental care


• Eye care


• Medical equipment


• Physical therapy


• Mental health treatment


• and other services

Each state has its own Web site describing what services its program covers. We'll tell you how to find out what's covered in your state in the How do I apply? section later on. You will be told where to find your state’s Web site and be given a toll-free 800 number you can call to contact your state’s program.
